AMD has published a white paper titled “Bringing Action into the Agenda: Crowdsourcing Volunteerism at Corporate Events” [click to download]. It provides a guidance document and case study to show how integrating a volunteer effort into a conference / event can deliver a win-win set of benefits to several parties.
AMD partnered with several organizations to debut this concept at the 2012 South by Southwest (SXSW) ECO conference in Austin, TX. The event was a success, so the purpose of this paper is to share lessons learned from the experience and provide an “Event in a Box” document for others who want to implement or adapt the process, as well as a case study (“AMD’s Green Army”) to demonstrate how the approach can be applied.
Contacts from AMD and the other partners are listed in the “Resources” section at the end of the white paper in case you have questions or want more information.
