This 3 1/2 acre farm is really helping a lot of people."

AMD Sunnyvale Employees Support 2012 Tech Challenge
Eight AMD Sunnyvale employees spent the day judging the annual Tech Challenge science competition.   Volunteers worked in pairs to evaluate each student team's solution to this year’s challenge of Shake, Rattle, and Rescue, where participants were challenged to create a solution to help earthquake survivors.
"It's good to know that there is no shortage of talented engineers in Silicon Valley.  I was very surprised at the creative solutions the students came up with to rescue a stranded person on a bridge in this challenge," shared one AMD volunteer.    The Tech Challenge is an annual engineering design event for teams of students in grades 5-12, designed to inspire the next generation of Silicon Valley innovators.   An AMD Team Development Grant of $500 was awarded to the Tech Museum.

We felt that we brought some ‘sunshine’ into the home and we definitely want to volunteer again this year.” An AMD Team Development Grant of $500 was awarded to the Taiwan Access for All Association on behalf of the employees that volunteered.
