RAHUL
Product Development Engineer
Georgia Institute of Technology, Computer Engineering

The first impression I got when I met AMD at a campus career fair was that it was a people-oriented company. They were very prompt with the communication during the whole interview process. Their interest in keeping me informed at all times impressed me a lot and was a big factor in my decision to move to Austin. Another reason why I chose AMD is the fact that it is a company poised to grow tremendously. There is constant innovation happening here and there is a great sense of excitement about what tomorrow will bring.

At AMD, I have had a lot of opportunities to pursue projects of my interest and matching with my skill-set. The people here are approachable and always willing to help out. As a result, I have been able to develop my engineering as well as people skills. Right from my first day here, I have felt like I am working on things that really matter to the company’s business, and that my work has a tangible impact on the company.

RAGAD
Product Development Engineer
Georgia Institute of Technology, Electrical Engineering

Working for AMD was an easy choice to make. When I came in for my interview, the recruiters showed a genuine interest and really tried to understand what kind of work I would like to do and the skill sets I had to offer. The result was they handed me a job which had a perfect blend of my interests and expertise.

Now that I am here, the opportunities seem to be innumerable. The policies here encourage understanding a broad overview while also specializing in a given area. Hence you are always in a learning process and if your interest shifts, you can easily move into a new area as well.

So overall, having a job that actually challenges you, working with colleagues that are helpful and fun to be with, enjoying a flexible schedule and living in a great city like Austin, there is hardly a better deal out there!

MATT
System Hardware Design Engineer
University of Colorado, Electrical and Computer Engineering

During my first weeks working at AMD, I received outstanding support from the company and my colleagues to prepare me for hardware design. The work environment has been the best I have ever experienced. “People first, products and profits will follow” is not only a saying at AMD but something the company actually lives up to. After only a few weeks, I have started on my own design work, but continue to receive the support needed from my team to improve my skills and knowledge of computer architecture. AMD’s advancement is based on merit, so it gives me peace of mind to know that I will be given advancement opportunities based on what I do and not just who I know. I love working at the Colorado location because I can continue to be minutes from the mountains and at the center of all kinds of outdoor activities.

SHANTANU
Design For Testability Engineer
Carnegie Mellon University, Electrical and Computer Engineering

During my internship at AMD, I worked in the Design for Testability group in Sunnyvale, CA. I had excellent exposure to the work culture of AMD, which is one of the best in the industry. AMD gives equal opportunity to all and values freedom of thoughts & innovation at work. I was able to correlate what I studied at school to how things really happen in the industry. The internship program gave me an excellent sense of what would be my future career path!

I am really excited and happy to work with fellow engineers who are "THE BEST" in the industry. The challenging projects and the energized work environment at AMD provides an excellent platform to all engineers to use their innovative skills and creativity to the max.

My recommendation to students will be to attend the "AMD Day" at school where they get an opportunity to know more about AMD, its different departments and the type of current positions AMD has for the students. They should follow up on the all the events organized by AMD in their schools and participate in career fairs.
