AMD is committed to being a good neighbor, a responsible and involved citizen of our local communities. By investing in the community through charitable contributions, employee volunteer programs and partnerships with local schools, AMD strives to make our communities better places to live and work.
Corporate Giving
AMD's commitment to community involvement begins with our corporate giving program. Each year, AMD sets aside one percent of pre-tax profits for contributions to nonprofit organizations and schools that serve the communities in which we operate, Sunnyvale, California and Austin, Texas. We grant funds to agencies that serve the community's health and human service, education and civic needs. In addition to granting funds through our corporate contributions program, AMD matches employee gifts to organizations whose activities fall within one of our approved funding areas. AMD also supports engineering education at universities throughout the U.S.
Employee Involvement
AMD organizes dozens of group volunteer activities every year, providing hundreds of AMD employees the chance to participate in local community events annually. In addition, AMD's Grant Incentives for Volunteer Efforts (GIVE) program supports and encourages employees' individual volunteer activities. Through GIVE, AMD provides mini-grants to eligible organizations where our employees regularly volunteer. AMD also provides opportunities for employees to become involved in community giving through organizing food and toy drives that benefit local residents.
School Partnerships
AMD is committed to enhancing education by supporting a positive learning environment for students. To this end, we form partnerships with schools at each of our domestic sites. These partnerships help prepare students for success through activities that promote self esteem, enhance skills and illustrate the relevance of schoolwork to students' futures. Partnership activities also address skill development for teachers and administrators.

In addition to providing support through these formal community outreach programs, AMD donates surplus goods to nonprofit organizations and schools. All these activities support our commitment to help make our communities stronger.
