Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein arrangiert syndizierten Kredit für AMD-Werk in Dresden
- DrKW führt siebenköpfiges Bankenkonsortium – 700 Mio. Euro Kredit für Bau der AMD-Chipfabrik -
Frankfurt/Main -- 8. Dezember 2003 --Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW), die Investmentbanking-Einheit der Dresdner Bank, ist Konsortialführer für einen syndizierten Kredit zum Bau der zweiten AMD-Chipfabrik in Dresden. Zum insgesamt siebenköpfigen Bankenkonsortium gehören neben DrKW die niederländische ABN Amro, die Commerzbank, die Deutsche Bank, die Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) sowie die Landesbanken von Hessen-Thüringen und Sachsen. Der syndizierte Kredit hat einen Umfang von 700 Mio. Euro mit einer Laufzeit von sieben Jahren. Er ist Teil der Gesamtinvestition von 2,4 Mrd. Euro für den Bau der Mikroprozessoren-Fabrik des amerikanischen Chipherstellers Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Dresden. Unterstüzt wurde das Zustandekommen der Finanzierung durch Garantien der AMD Inc., mit Sitz in Sunnyvale, Kalifornien, sowie durch Ausfallbürgschaften des Bundes und des Freistaats Sachsen in Höhe von 80 Prozent der Kreditsumme.
In der überzeichneten Vorbereitungsphase wurden die sieben beteiligten Banken gebeten, je einen Anteil von 120 Mio. Euro des Konsortialkredites bereitzustellen. Nach der Hereinnahme weiterer Konsortialbanken im ersten Quartal 2004 wird dann pro Institut ein Anteil von rund 75 Mio. Euro zu übernehmen sein. Die endgültige Unterzeichung des Kreditvertrages ist für März 2004 geplant.
Mit diesem zweiten Großprojekt in Dresden ist AMD einer der größten ausländischen Investoren in den neuen Bundesländern. Der Bau des neuen Werks (AMD Fab 36) ist eine Erweiterungsinvestition in den bereits erfolgreich operierenden AMD-Standort Dresden. Seit 1997 unterhält AMD dort bereits eine große Produktionsstätte für Mikroprozessoren (AMD Fab 30), die ebenfalls unter der Konsortialführerschaft von DrKW finanziert wurde.
