Founded by CEO David Scandlyn in 2005, Slappy Studios provides post-production visual effects and character animation services to the entertainment and advertising industry. Scandlyn and his crew of digital artists in Studio City, California, create affordable and realistic 2D/3D animations, background imagery and special effects for commercials, movies, music videos, and promotional spots for broadcast networks, including Fox, WB and CW. In this business, time is of the essence and for the Slappy Studios crew there’s no bigger frustration, and time waster, than technology getting in the way. Slow computer responsiveness, waiting for applications to load, waiting for restart after a computer crashes, or the inability to run several applications at once can completely derail the creative process and bring productivity to a halt.
