AMD-V™ supports the following functionality:

Client Side Virtualization: Operating systems such as Microsoft Windows 7 (and above) ship with a Windows XP Mode that allows two operating systems to run separately, securely, and uninterrupted via client hypervisors.2

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI): Instead of a traditional operating system, client virtual machines are hosted on a hardware virtualization center on the data center server.

Blade PC, OS Streaming, and Terminal Services: AMD PRO A-series processors offer a technology option that can be tailored for a variety of computing architectures, whether it’s the performance and isolation requirements of VDI and Terminal Services virtualization, or the low power need and memory requirements demanded by Blade PC and OS streaming with concurrent users and applications.
