The JTAG-Booster is delivered with JTAG Élan486 Software, which uses the JTAG port of the AMD Élan™SC400 embedded microprocessor in conjunction with the small JTAG-Booster.

The JTAG-Booster can be used:
• to program data into flash memory
• to verify and read the contents of a flash memory
• to make a memory dump
• to test CPU signals.
All functions are done without any piece of software running in the target. No firmware or BIOS must be written. Bootstrap software may be downloaded to initially unprogrammed memories. Initially developed to support the FS FORTH-Systeme modules with the AMD Élan™SC400, you can use this tool for your own AMD ÉlanSC400 designs as well. Furthermore, it's used by our customer for updating their application software. About 80 flash devices from AMD, Intel, Fujitsu and SGS are supported.
