U S Software's EmTalk software package is specifically designed to simplify the VoIP application development process. EmTalk offers a seamlessly integrated H.323 protocol suite with U S Software's USNET TCP/IP Protocol suite, and SuperTask! RTOS. Specifically designed for embedded applications, these compact, ANSI C compliant components offer a complete turnkey solution for VoIP developers.

The H.323 protocols included within this implementation include H.245 Channel signaling, H.225/Q.931 Call Signaling, and ASN.1/X.691. These protocols specify the selection of hardware capabilities, call and system control, and the interaction among endpoint components. RTP/RTCP is also included with the EmTalk stack and supports the real-time data and control transmission between endpoints.

Applications

EmTalk provides a terminal end point solution for voice enabling devices. Terminals are client endpoints that support bi-directional communications in real-time. A comprehensive, yet simple API supports initialization, placing and receiving VoIP calls, exchanging capabilities, and opening logical channels, all within just a few short lines of code.

End-user products might range from VoIP telephones to commercial intercom systems or information kiosks. EmTalk was designed for both new applications and retrofitting existing products with VoIP capabilities.
