Datalight Sockets is a suite of tools designed to Internet-enable embedded devices.

Company Information
Datalight: Since 1983, Datalight has been developing reliable, small-footprint system software for the 80x86 architecture.

Extremely flexible, Sockets allows any DOS or Windows environment with a modem or network interface card to be connected to the Internet in a matter of minutes rather than the days or weeks required by compile-in networking libraries. Sockets/Win enables all third party Internet applications for Windows to run unmodified while Sockets/DOS enables the majority of third party Internet applications for DOS to run unmodified.

Sockets 2.0 supports a complete set of the applications that are designed to address real-world embedded Internet challenges. All of these applications are either included with the Sockets licensing agreement, or available from Datalight at an additional fee:
FTP Server/Client for Custom Network Communication
HTTP Server/Client for Remote Disk Update and File Sharing

Remote Console for Off-Site System Access and Configuration

Print for Instant-Access Reporting

Terminal Emulation for Legacy Terminal Replacement

E-mail for Emergency Alarm Mechanism
