Design for Environment, Health, and Safety at AMD
As a leading global provider of innovative microprocessor solutions for computing, communications and consumer electronics markets, AMD strives to provide products and components that are designed with consideration for environmental, health and safety (EHS) factors to help customers decrease the EHS impacts of their final products.

Design for Environment, Health, and Safety (DfEHS) is a general design principle focused on integrating environmental, health and safety considerations into design processes to decrease a product's overall EHS impact along its life cycle.

AMD applies DfEHS strategies in the design of the manufacturing technologies as well as in the design of the products themselves, where AMD can have the greatest influence on the products' EHS impacts. Including EHS considerations into the product design reduces the products' impacts during their use phase (e.g., through decreased energy consumption) and at their end-of-life (e.g., through minimization of hazardous substances contained in the products).
