Double Data Rate Memory (DDR)
Double Data Rate(DDR)SDRAM is an established, high-bandwidth DRAM technology that is cost-effective and suitable for every PC market segment. AMD Athlon processors are designed to work with DDR SDRAM with data rates of 200 MHz, 266 MHz, and 333 MHz to provide the power for computing systems that deliver extraordinary performance.

AMD was an early proponent of DDR DRAM technology. To enable DDR DRAM, AMD worked with SMART Modular and the DRAM industry to develop the first validation program for DDR memory. AMD's involvement continues today with Computer Memory Test Labs (CMTL), which provides independent compatibility testing on PC1600, PC2100, and PC2700 modules. AMD is working to ensure that test results from the latest AMD-based platforms are available from CMTL. This includes platforms supporting the latest Athlon XP processors with an advanced 333 MHz Front-Side Bus (FSP).

AMD plans to continue to work actively within JEDEC and with major DRAM suppliers to develop and produce higher performance memory solutions to enrich customer experiences with systems based on AMD processors.
