SUMMARY:

The power management INF will not automatically be installed by Windows 2000 on a system with the AMD-766 or AMD-768 Southbridge or by Windows 98/98SE/ME on a system with the AMD-768, AMD-766, or AMD-756 Southbridge. An error flag, !, will appear in Device Manager as "Unknown PCI Bridge". This does not result in any functional issue but this can be cleared up by using this driver.

REQUIREMENTS:

Motherboard with AMD-768 or AMD-766 Southbridge on Windows 2000 or motherboard with AMD-768, AMD-766, or AMD-756 Southbridge on Windows 98/98SE/ME.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

To install the Power Management Controller, run the setup program, powmgmt_122s.exe.

-A Welcome installation window is displayed, press Next to install, Cancel to quit.
-After installation a Finish installation window is displayed, press Finish.
-The setup program installs the .inf file.
-Reboot the system to complete installation.

To install the Power Management Setup in silent mode, run the powmgmt_122s.exe program with the /s command line option:

-Type: powmgmt_122s /s
-The installation of the driver runs silently.
-The setup program installs the .inf file.
-Reboot the system to complete installation.
