Manchester -- 10th September 2003 --Sale Sharks are delighted to announce a 2-year continuation to the current sponsorship agreement with the club’s main sponsor, AMD. This new deal extends the original 3-year sponsorship to 5 years and includes a major investment in the Sale Sharks community programme that is designed to promote the game of rugby union across schools and junior rugby clubs.
Niels de Vos, Sale Sharks’ Chief Executive stated, “We are very proud to have AMD, a major global brand, as our main club sponsor. During the initial sponsorship period, research from Premier Rugby showed that AMD received the most hours of TV exposure of all the Premier clubs’ sponsors. This new deal recognises the benefits the sponsorship has delivered for the AMD brand. We look forward to further success with AMD over the next 2 seasons and are particularly pleased with their commitment to developing grass roots rugby.”
“AMD is delighted to continue its sponsorship of Sale Sharks; both parties share the determination and passion to win. During the past 3 years we have seen Sale Sharks rise in the league to now be in 4th position and wish them continued success in the coming season,” said Wayne Godwin, Managing Director of AMD UK. “As an enthusiastic sponsor and supporter of Sale Sharks, we are eager to help promote the game through the community programme.”
