AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology Model Number Methodology

AMD Turion™ 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology employs alpha-numeric processor model numbers to help end users simplify their notebook PC purchase decision by providing a simple designation of both relative processor performance and degree of mobility (as measured by power consumption, enabling thin and light notebook PCs, and long battery life) among this processor family.

An example of AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology model numbers is illustrated in Figure 1 below. The alpha-numeric processor model numbers consists of 2 letters followed by numbers. The letters indicate the processors class with the second letter designating increasing degree of mobility within the processor class as the letter approaches Z.

The numbers indicate the relative processor performance within the processor class. Higher numbers indicate higher relative performance. For example, model TL-60 represents better overall performance than the model TL-56.
