AMD Promotes Atiq Raza
SUNNYVALE, CA -- 27 ottobre 1998 --AMD announced today the promotion of S. Atiq Raza to the post of co-chief operating officer, a position he will share with President and Chief Operating Officer Richard Previte. Raza, 49, is executive vice president, chief technical officer, and a member of the board of directors of AMD. Previte, 63, a 29-year veteran of AMD, has served as president and chief operating officer since 1990.
"Rich Previte will work closely with Atiq Raza to assure a smooth and orderly transition in anticipation of his assumption of the post of president and chief operating officer at the 1999 annual shareholder meeting," said W.J. Sanders III, chairman and chief executive officer. "At that time, Rich Previte will move up to vice chairman."
