Angstrom announces world's first 1U Quad AMD Athlon™ MP 2000+ systems

Servers provide densest rackmount computing power available today: up to 168 AMD Athlon™ MP 2000+ processors in a rack

BOSTON, MA. -- 13 marzo 2002 --Angstrom Microsystems, a leading provider of rackmount servers, is announcing the Quad2000, the world’s first quad AMD Athlon™ MP processor 2000+ 1U rackserver.

Known for its quality, engineering and breadth of deployment services, Angstrom is pushing the rackmount server envelope by packing four CPUs in a 1U. The Quad2000 doubles the density of current 1U solutions and quadruples the density of current 2U offerings. In the Quad2000, Angstrom has provided a server solution that is easily upgradeable.

“The performance of an AMD Athlon MP 2000+ is a natural fit for a Quad ultra-dense server. For our rendering and scientific computing customers, the Quad2000 server provides superior performance,” said Lalit Jain, CEO of Angstrom Microsystems.

“The AMD Athlon MP processor 2000+ is an excellent choice for systems that need the reliability, compatibility and performance that AMD processors offer,” said Ben Williams, director of Server and Workstation Marketing at AMD.
