AMD Turbo Core Technology

Performance when you need it

Think of your PC as a race car with a powerful turbocharger sitting under the hood. You're driving along at a casual pace when the urge to speed up grips you, so you flip the switch to "turbo," and – in an instant – your engine's full capacity kicks in and rockets you down the road. This is your PC with AMD Turbo Core technology under the hood.* Just as a turbocharger increases torque and power output, AMD Turbo Core technology can provide more performance when you need it from your AMD APU.

Dynamically adjusts performance

AMD Turbo Core technology dynamically adjusts to give you a performance boost just when the operating system requests the highest processor performance. If a core is operating below maximum limits and your workload demands additional performance, the processor frequency will dynamically increase until the upper limit of frequency is reached. As your workload subsides, the core returns to normal frequency. This gives you optimized application performance within the thermal and power limits of your APU.

Your PC is already equipped

Unlike the nitrous oxide tank in a race car, AMD Turbo Core technology doesn't require extra add-ons – many AMD APU-powered PCs come fully equipped with it.*

Maximize your performance now

There are technologies on the horizon such as HSA that promise to maximize the processing capacity of your AMD APU, but, for the moment, there are relatively few applications that take full advantage of multicore processors. With AMD Turbo Core technology, you don't have to wait for new technological advancements to make it down the pipeline – you can get incredible performance out of your AMD APU now.

*Additional hardware (e.g. HD or 4K monitor, USB, 3.0 ports, wirelessly enabled HDTV) and/or software (e.g. multimedia applications and/or Wi-Fi access) are required for the full enablement of some features. HD/4K Video display requires an HD/4K video source. Not all features may be supported on all components or systems - check with your component or system manufacturer for specific model capabilities and supported technologies.
