Employee Engagement
 |
|
An essential element of AMD’s approach to community involvement is employee engagement. We encourage our employees to volunteer, and AMD supports their efforts in a variety of ways – by coordinating company-sponsored volunteer events, connecting employees with volunteer opportunities in their local communities, and matching employees' charitable gifts of time and money. |
In 2006, AMD employees and their families volunteered more than 16,000 hours. Through our Employee Giving Program, AMD and employees also contributed more than $1.16 million to strengthen our communities worldwide.
Employee Giving Program
While we focus corporate contributions on education and basic needs, we encourage our employees to get involved in helping charities or schools of their interest. To further the impact of employee contributions, the AMD Employee Giving program1 financially matches their donations of time and money.
- Volunteering
Employees can find rewarding volunteer opportunities located near their home, office, or even virtually using AMD’s online tool2 with a database of more than 30,000 activities. AMD also contributes a grant to eligible organizations for up to $15 per hour that our employees spend volunteering3.
- Giving
AMD employees are amazingly generous and compassionate. To double the impact of our employees’ financial donations to eligible non-profit organizations or schools, AMD matches their contributions dollar for dollar4.
Blood Donations
In 2006, AMD employees donated more than 1,200 units of blood during on-site blood drives.
