The SPECint, SPECfp, and SPECjbb results for Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2381 HE are based upon data submitted to Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation as of April 13, 2009. The other SPECint, SPECfp, and SPECjbb results stated below reflect results published on http://www.spec.org/ as of April 13, 2009. The SPECint, SPECfp, and SPECjbb comparisons presented below are based on the best performing two-socket servers using AMD Opteron™ processor Models 2360 SE and 2381 HE.
In equally configured platforms1, the enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor (“Shanghai”)-based platform offers up to a 72 percent overall performance to power ratio advantage over the highest performing 105W ACP Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor (“Barcelona”)-based platform. For these platforms, the enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 2381 HE-based platform only used 115W at Active Idle compared to the Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2360 SE-based platform using 139W at Active Idle. The enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 2381 HE-based platform had a SPECpower_ssj™2008 result of 1115 overall ssj_ops/Watt, (371,303 ssj_ops @ 100% target load). The Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2360 SE-based platform had a SPECpower_ssj™2008 result of 648 overall ssj_ops/Watt (317,075 ssj_ops @ 100% target load).
1These platforms are configured identically using the same base platform model including server, 4 DDR2-800 DIMMs of 4GB each, the same power supply, the same disk drive, and the same NIC.
