AMD Announces Availability of WinSLAC Software
AUSTIN, TX -- 1997 년 11 월 10 일 --AMD today announced the release of its WinSLAC software development tool that aids in the design and development of telephone linecards and related voice-band applications that use the AMD SLAC family of devices.
Available at no cost to AMD customers, the WinSLAC program runs under Windows 3.1 and above and supports the AMD DSLAC, ASLAC and QSLAC devices while incorporating the functionality of the legacy AmSLAC2, AmSLAC3 and AmSLAC4 programs. With this software, linecard designers can:
Model the SLAC device, the line conditions and associated linecard SLIC components
Calculate an optimum feature set of filter coefficients based on a system's overall design conditions
Design and generate coefficients for the programmable filters of the AMD SLAC family of devices
Calculate and plot predicted responses for two-wire return loss (2WRL), four-wire return loss (4WRL) and receive and transmit frequency responses.
AMD is the world's foremost merchant supplier of integrated circuits for telephone linecards. Its SLAC family of products ranges from highly programmable solutions like the DSLAC and QSLAC devices to cost-sensitive and feature-selectable devices like the QSLAC-NP/NP+. In these SLAC devices, AMD has shipped more than 150 million application-specific digital signal processors. AMD also offers more than 50 varieties of SLIC (Subscriber Line Interface Circuit) devices that can be coupled with these SLAC devices.
"WinSLAC provides a wealth of benefits to our customers developing solutions with our SLAC devices," said Mike Wodopian, director of marketing for AMD's Communications Products Division, "including system-level testing, device optimization and code compatibility across our family of products. It also demonstrates AMD's commitment to helping our customers get solutions to market faster."
