A movement for the positive potential of games.

Much has been made of the inherent risks associated with digital gaming. If abused, excessive game play can promote a sedentary lifestyle with associated health implications. And children exposed to violent or age-inappropriate content may exhibit anti-social behavior.

But these are essentially the same perils that parents and children face with any medium when it’s misused. Television, films, the Internet, and even books offer the same hazards in an unstructured learning environment.

Responsible gaming has great potential as part of a balanced social and learning lifestyle that also includes time with family and friends, physical activity, and a range of personal interests and passions.

AMD supports the use of responsible, age-appropriate games for entertainment, teaching, training, and problem-solving. We look forward to being a part of evolving how games are used to their best possible potential.

Games for Change
The Games for Change movement, advanced by groups such as New York-based nonprofit organization Games for Change, promotes the use of digital games to educate and engage people of all ages around pressing social issues. These games are designed to inspire players to get involved with problem solving based on real-world needs.
