Corporate Contributions
Financial Contributions
In order to strengthen the communities in which we operate, AMD sets aside a portion of its revenue each year for cash contributions to the community.
Annually, AMD makes hundreds of grants to support the critical services and innovative programs delivered by nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, and universities located near AMD's facilities in the United States, Europe and Asia. Major operating facilities are located in Sunnyvale, CA; Austin, TX; Dresden, Germany; and Penang, Malaysia. More information about AMD's operating facilities worldwide can be found in the Locations section.
Priority Giving Categories
We believe we can have a greater impact on our communities by targeting our corporate investments. To this end, AMD has established two global focus areas — Strengthening Community and Strengthening Education. The following priority giving categories fall under each:
- Education: Math and Science, Teacher Development, and College and Career Awareness
- Basic Needs: Food, Shelter, and Basic Health Care
- University Education

In-Kind Donations
Reduce, reuse, and recycle are the watchwords for efficient business operations at AMD. Our global sites regularly donate a wide range of surplus supplies and materials, from used computers and office furniture to highly specialized manufacturing tools. We also provide other in-kind resources to the community, including hosting community meetings on-site where possible.
