Q:Where are co-op/intern positions available?
A:Austin, Texas and Sunnyvale, California.

Q:What is a co-op?
A:A co-op is a college student who works full-time for a period of several months either during the Fall Tour (Aug-Dec), Spring Tour (Jan-May) or Summer Tour (May-Aug). Generally co-op participation is a structured school program where tours are incorporated into your schedule. Co-ops in Texas are required to do at least 2 tours, typically on alternating semesters.

Q:What is an intern?
A:Interns are college students who work in the Summer from May-Aug. Internships are generally only available in California.

Q:Are co-ops/internships paid positions?
A:Yes. AMD’s salary is comparable with other co-op/intern salaries in the industry.

Q:What kind of work will I be doing?
A:A variety of opportunities are available for all levels. Please see our job listings for more details.

Q:Do I have to stay in the same group for my second tour?
A:Co-ops may have the opportunity to experience other groups during each tour if available.

Q:Will I have a chance to work at AMD after I graduate?
A:We encourage co-ops to keep in touch with their recruiter or manager and keep us posted on their plans after graduation in order to determine whether there might be openings at AMD for former co-ops and interns.

Q:What hours do co-ops and interns work?
A:Co-op and intern positions are Mon-Fri, 8 hours per day. Work schedules are arranged with your manager/mentor and can be flexible.

Q:Do you recruit at my school?
A:Check out our campus calendar.

Q:What if my school is not listed on your recruiting calendar?
A:Please apply online and submit your resume at Jobs@AMD.com.

Q:When should I submit my resume for co-op/internship positions?
A:Jan/Feb for Summer internships in California, Feb/Mar for Fall co-ops and Aug/Sep for Spring co-ops.
