To be a candidate for a co-op/internship program at AMD, you must:
- Be enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Solid State Physics
- Have a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 for undergrad or 3.5/4.0 for graduate students
- Complete at least 60 credit hours and have at least one term remaining upon completion of the assignment
- Be available to work full-time during the entire period of the defined work tour
Co-ops in Austin, Texas, are additionally required to participate in at least two co-op tours, typically on alternating semesters.
AMD limits its co-op/intern hiring to individuals who are U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. lawful permanent residents (LPR), temporary residents granted legalization under IRCA, asylees, or refugees. For persons currently in F-1 Student status (including New Grads), AMD limits its hiring to candidates at the MS or PhD level (or equivalent work experience).
