DESIGN ENGINEER
As a Design Engineer, you will design new VLSI products with state-of-the-art CMOS technology. Design Engineers participate in all phases of product development from definition, architectural design, logic and circuit design, layout and characterization to production. Your responsibilities will include analog and digital IC's for non-volatile memories, microprocessors, communication devices and peripheral chips.

TEST ENGINEER
As a Test Engineer, you will write software for characterizing new designs and the efficient production testing of released products. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and specifying new test systems and equipment, and developing the hardware and software test methodologies required to support new products.

CAD ENGINEER
As a CAD Engineer, you will support CAD activities by evaluating, analyzing and customizing commercially available design automation tools, using your expertise to design and develop interface/integration programs (Simulation, Testing, Verification, Synthesis, Place and Route, etc.). AMD product line users will rely on you for solution engineering (methodology proliferation and application support).

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
As a Product Development Engineer, you will plan and design integrated circuits from product definition through production transfer. Depending on the specific project, you will be required to: design ICs from high-level architecture through logic and/or circuit schematics; develop test requirements, specifications and patterns; perform logic and circuit design verification; participate in the development of new product specifications, check final layout and subsequent databases; support product debug and characterization.

PRODUCT MARKETING ENGINEER
As a Product Marketing Engineer, you will be responsible for performing PC market analysis, competitive analysis, product roadmap development, product positioning strategy, marketing collateral development, and product introductions in support of the AMD-K6 product family. Further responsibilities include OEM design win support (working closely with leading PC OEMs such as IBM, HP and Compaq as well as other worldwide PC companies), field sales training/communications and input into new product development.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Design, implement, test and support a wide variety of optimized software solutions employing the best architectural features and instruction set extensions in the AMD Athlon and next generation microprocessors. Develop a complete and thorough understanding of the optimization tools and techniques required to yield maximum performance advantage on AMD's processor architecture. Potentially work with internal customers and external vendors to ensure that AMD technology is leveraged for maximum performance advantage. Prepare and perform controlled benchmarking tests. Support key Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs) as they optimize their products for AMD processors. Coop/intern positions are also available.

IT SOFTWARE ENGINEER
As an IT Software Engineer, you will:

  • Participate in the design and development of new applications and databases. These assignments include the use of traditional client/server tools as well as Java development. Oracle is our company standard database, but Microsoft's SQL Server will be used to some extent in the future
  • Learn and support existing applications. Each member of the team is responsible for supporting and maintaining our existing suite of applications. These tasks include designing and implementing modifications to the systems, as well as trouble shooting and applying fixes

Responsibilities include creating data sheets, technical articles, manuals, conference papers and presentations. The technical focus is on shortening time-to-market for our customers. This position requires solid problem-solving ability, and excellent interpersonal, technical writing and communication skills.

INTERNATIONAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEER I
As an International Manufacturing Engineer, you will participate in the following:

  • Support manufacturing processes related to surface mount packages; CSP, BGA, etc
  • Support ball / column attach processes for high volume production
  • Develop and establish ball mounting/attach critical process parameters and control
  • Explore new process / technology for CSP, BGA TMP manufacturing for lower cost, better quality and shorter cycle time

With a sponsor, four mentors, and the program manager by your side, experience a one-year rotational program based on your educational and research background and AMD's needs. Requires a masters or doctorate, plus past participation in research on VLSI device/process of materials technology.

As an Industrial Engineer, you will

  • Develop & maintain a capacity model for the area as a whole & for each operation. Responsible for maintaining the Test capacity SOP
  • Generate & maintain standards for all operations , report on efficiency & utilization based on standards
  • Responsible for the generation of the 26 wk/4 qtr/Budget volume/device allocation of Production Control build plan, as well as the Test Equipt capacity analysis based on Test standards
  • Co-ordinate/Direct the Offshore Industrial engineers on all Test capacity issues

  • Assist Logistics manager in developing methods for utilizing Test equipment

BUYER 2
As a Buyer 2 you will perform various value-add duties, including:

1. Managing operational procurement requirements
2. Participating in global strategic commodity teams
3. Providing leadership to Team Based procurement projects to support corporate initiatives (systems, cost reduction, productivity improvement)

LANE SEGMENT ANALYST
As a Lane Segment Analyst, you will coordinate all transportation lane segment routes in a specific geographical location. Lead cross-functional teams by coordinating activities resulting in transportation decisions which deliver the highest quality, reliability and value to meet manufacturing and customer requirements through the development of strong business relationships and strategic alliances.

  • Review worldwide transportation flows for the following environments: Global Distribution Centers, Redistribution Centers, Manufacturing Facilities and Customer selected couriers.
  • Establish and implement transportation procedures throughout the global logistics system
  • Design and create cost models and analyze transportation lanes to recommend the most cost-effective traffic routes for freight movement using PC or modeling software
  • Coordinate supplier selection on a worldwide basis

COST ANALYST

As a Financial Analyst, you will report to a financial manager and often report informally to operations management. Primary support for the financial reporting, analysis and planning for operations within a central finance function is at the responsibility core. Beyond that, the financial analyst must absorb the implications of operational issues and be involved in the decision-making process. The analyst provides proactive value-added analysis and business insight. The relationship with operations management evolves into one of reliance and consultation. Financial analysts advise the operations organizations on issues pertaining to strategic and financial planning as well as optimizing near-term profitability.

AUDITOR
As an Auditor, you will identify and execute basic and creative auditing procedures, both qualitative and quantitative. You will also perform the following: Prepare audit workpapers, providing an audit trail of programs, tests and supporting documents. Develop value-added recommendations on audit findings with emphasis on best control and best business practices. Present audit results in a logically organized and clearly written form. Participate in audit review meetings with various levels of management. Present data in a manner which clearly conveys the meaning and impact to the audience. Handle liaison role with, and develop in-depth understanding of AMD functional areas. Job includes travel opportunities to domestic and international offices.
