Arima NM46X, NM46X1U, SW44X and SW44X1U Deliver Remarkable Solutions for AMD Opteron Socket F Processor, Contributing to the Growing AMD64 Ecosystem
Taipei, Taiwan R.O.C -- August 15, 2006 --Arima Computer Corp., a leader in the server industry that produces high-quality server motherboard and system, announced two motherboards and two barebones system which meet customer expectations on performance.
Arima is re-affirming its commitment to enabling customers to becoming technology leaders by supporting the new AMD Opteron Socket F processors on NM46X and SW44X server motherboards, as well as NM46X1U and SW44X1U barebones system.
Launched as Arima's new flagship server product, the 2-way NM46X platform features NVIDIA's single-chip media and communications processor (MCP55 Professional) solution and supports up to 64GB of DDR2 memory that operates at frequencies up to 667MHz. As the main part of the barebones solution, the platform's motherboard also integrates Vitesse's Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller and has an HTX slot for HyperTransport add-in cards. Another 2-way processor platform, the SW44X, is based on a chipset solution from Broadcom's ServerWorks group (HT2000 + HT1000). Both motherboards are fully support OPMA (Open Platform Management Architecture) which uses the OPMA-industry-standard connector, offers high-performance and high-quality iKVM management and full IPMI 2.0 compliant. Some of the features of both motherboards are:
NM46X
Support for two AMD Opteron Socket F 2000 series processors
Uses the NVIDIA nForce® Professional 3600 MCP chipset
Supports up to sixteen DDR2-667/533/400 Registered ECC memory with 64GB capacity
Two GbE ports with teaming/Fail-Over and One dedicated port for OPMA
Two PCI-Express x8 slots, two PCI-X 133MHz slots and HTx slot (for riser)
Four SATA II (Raid 0,1,5,10) ports and SAS (Raid 0,1,10) ports
Fully OPMA compliant including IPMI 2.0 + iKVM (optional OPMA card)
12”x 13”SSI EEB form factor
SW44X
Support for two AMD Opteron Socket F 2000 series processors
Uses the Broadcom HT2000 and HT1000 chipsets
Supports up to eight DDR2-667/533/400 Registered ECC memory with 32GB capacity
Two GbE ports with teaming/Fail-Over and One dedicated port for OPMA
Two PCI-Express x8 slots, two PCI-X 133MHz slots and one PCI-Express x1 slot
Four SATA II (Raid 0,1,5,10) slots
Fully OPMA compliant including IPMI 2.0 + iKVM (optional OPMA card)
12”x 13”SSI EEB form factor with side-by-side Processros placement for better thermal solution
Both the NM46X and SW44X provide an incredible and manageable 1U Rackmount design which enables a wealth of features within the enclosure. Some of the outstanding features of both barebones system are:
NM46X1U
1U optimized layout for best airflow and thermal solution
Support for AMD Opteron Socket F 2000 series processors
Supports sixteen DDR2-667/533/400 Registered ECC memory
Two GbE ports with teaming/Fail-Over and One dedicated port for OPMA
One PCI-Express x8, or HTx slot for riser.
Four SATA II (Raid 0,1,5,10) or SAS (Raid 0,1,10) HDD bays
Fully OPMA compliant including IPMI 2.0 + iKVM (optional OPMA card)
SW44X1U
1U optimized layout for best airflow and thermal solution
Support for AMD Opteron Socket F 2000 series processors
Supports DDR2-667/533/400 Registered ECC memory
Two GbE ports with teaming/Fail-Over and One dedicated port for OPMA
One PCI-Express x8 slot for riser
Four SATA II (Raid 0,1,5,10) HDD bays
Fully OPMA compliant including IPMI 2.0 + iKVM (optional OPMA card)
"AMD Opteron processors with DDR2 memory support provide higher performance for memory bandwidth intensive applications as commonly used in workstation and scientific/HPC applications. It is excellent when new technology comes with upgrade capability. As Arima is a server barebone/mainboard maker, we definitely need to provide a seamless upgrade from dual-core to quad-core to our customers," said LC Tsai, general manager of Arima's server business unit. "AMD platform solutions currently account for major potion of Arima's server product shipments, and we look forward to seeing our new platforms continue the success story of our server business," he added.
The new product offerings will also include two single-processor platforms, the Arima NK16X and Arima NK12X, which are designed for entry-level servers and workstations.
