Egenera and AMD Forge Strategic Alliance
—Egenera to Deliver AMD Opteron™ Processor-based Blades—
Marlboro, Mass. -- February 7, 2005 --Egenera Inc., a global leader in utility computing, and AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced a worldwide alliance. Driven by customer demand, Egenera will deliver both two-way and four-way AMD Opteron™ processor-based Processing Blade™ configurations for the Egenera® BladeFrame® system in the next 30 days. In addition, AMD has joined the Egenera Accelerate alliance program as a strategic Enterprise Technology Alliances member, and the companies plan to engage in joint sales and marketing initiatives.
