AMD Receives this Years 'Best Supplier Award' from Samsung

SUNNYVALE, CA -- November 20, 2000 --AMD today announced that Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has named AMD the recipient of its 2000 "Best Supplier Award." Samsung's prestigious award was given to AMD in recognition of its excellence in supporting the Wireless Terminal Division of Samsung Electronics, with AMD's Flash memory solutions.

Samsung's vice president of purchasing, Kwang Suk Hyun commended AMD's outstanding achievement in providing excellent support and a strong strategic partnership to Samsung's Wireless Terminal Division. He said that the award is well deserved and is a true measure of AMD's excellence.

"We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award from the leading manufacturer of CDMA-cellular telephones, the fastest growing segment of the wireless market," said Walid Maghribi, group vice president of AMD's Memory Group. "AMD prides itself in our ability to combine Flash technology leadership and industry leading reliability, with the highest levels of customer service."

This is the fourth Flash memory customer support award that AMD has received recently. AMD received the Nortel 2000 Supplier of the Year award, the Volkswagen 1999 Leading Edge award and the Cisco 1999 Semiconductor Supplier of the Year award.

AMD announced a multi-year flash memory supply agreement with Samsung in January of this year.
