AMD Introduces 533MHz AMD-K6® -2 Processor With 3DNOW!™ Technology
Compaq® to Utilize Fastest AMD-K6®-2 Processor in Future Products
SUNNYVALE, CA -- November 29, 1999 --AMD today announced the introduction of its 533MHz AMD-K6® -2 processor with 3DNow!™ technology. Many computer manufacturers plan to offer systems featuring the AMD-K6-2/533 processor, including an upcoming Compaq Presario Internet PC.

About the AMD-K6® -2 Processor
The AMD-K6-2 processor with 3DNow! Technology delivers excellent performance for today's demanding Microsoft® Windows® compatible home and office applications. The 9.3-million-transistor AMD-K6-2 processor is manufactured on AMD's 0.25-micron, five-layer-metal process technology using local interconnect and shallow trench isolation at AMD's Fab 25 wafer fabrication facility in Austin, Texas. The AMD-K6-2 processor is packaged in a Super7&trade platform-compatible, 321-ceramic pin grid array (CPGA) package using C4 flip-clip interconnection technology.

3DNow! Technology, developed by AMD, was the first innovation to the x86 architecture that significantly enhanced floating-point-intensive 3D graphics and multimedia applications. It uses single instruction multiple data (SIMD) and other performance enhancements to provide a compelling visual computing experience.

Pricing
The AMD-K6-2/533 processor is priced at $167 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
