WIN Enterprises Teams Up with AMD to Provide OEM Customers with AMD Geode™, AMD Alchemy™, and AMD Opteron™ Processor-based Embedded Designs
NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- March 8, 2005 --WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of customized embedded systems, has worked with AMD (NYSE: AMD) to provide OEM developers and system integrators with AMD64 processor-based embedded controllers and platforms.
AMD’s announcement of the long-term availability of certain AMD Opteron™ processors has enabled the development of several new reference designs for the embedded market. MB-06047, a new controller featuring a 16-lane PCI Express™ slot and a stackable HyperTransport™ technology connector, is among the first long-life AMD Opteron processor-based reference designs for the embedded market. With its small form factor and an optional dual-core design, MB-06047 is ideal for demanding gaming, imaging, and networking applications.
“A number of our customers have been approaching us, asking for 64-bit processor capability on a small platform for quite a while,” said Chiman Patel, CEO/CTO of WIN Enterprises. “The entry of AMD into this market space has enabled us to meet those customers’ unique requirements.”
