IESC Unveils Newest Line of Servers Based on Next-Generation AMD Opteron™ Processors

IR2400 and IR2500 Deliver Outstanding Performance-per-Watt for the Enterprise

Taipei, Taiwan -- August 15, 2006 --Inventec Enterprise System Corp., one of the world's leading server providers, today announced the IESC IR2400 and IR2500 rack-mount servers, a new line of server solutions powered by Next-Generation AMD Opteron™ 2200 Series processors.

"We are announcing today our support for Next-Generation AMD Opteron processors with our new server offerings, the IR2400 and IR2500. These new rack-mount servers offer a very strong portfolio of high-quality, reliable and stable server solutions that deliver outstanding performance-per-watt to our customers," said Banks Chen, Marketing Director, Inventec Enterprise System Corp. "Designed with uncompromising quality control, our advanced dual-core solutions are ideal for the most critical of applications."

IESC’s IR2400 and IR2500 rack-mount servers are powered by Next-Generation AMD Opteron 2200 Series processors with Direct Connect Architecture, which eliminates the bottlenecks inherent in traditional front-side bus architecture for better overall system performance. Based on the nVidia nForce® Pro 3600, optional 3050MCP, and NEC PCI-X Bridge, the IR2400 and IR2500 support 12 DIMM slots and are optimized for IESC's 1U/2U high flexible chassis.

IESC’s new generation of rack server architecture brings the High Availability and High Performance Computing (HPC) benefit to the enterprise community. The new server line provides the best of field configurability with features like optional hot swappable redundancy, multiple choices of storage architecture, and tool-less and high-modularization mechanical design. Compatible with the new chassis, the IR2400 and IR2500 can be highly customized to fulfill customers’ needs.

“Since 2003, AMD has offered the revolutionary Direct Connect Architecture to enable our partners like IESC to build the most compelling solutions for our mutual customers,” said Pat Patla, Director of Marketing, Server/Workstation Division, AMD (NYSE: AMD). “With today’s release of our Next-Generation AMD Opteron processors, we continue to bring the reliability and stability our partners and customers have come to expect but with added benefits including increased performance-per-watt and high-performing, low-power DDR2 memory.”

The IESC IR2400 and IR2500 are currently shipping in volume to all customers the world over. For further product information, please visit www.inventecesc.com or email sales@inventecesc.com.
