ASA Computers, Inc. Announces Support for Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ Processors
New Quad-Core AMD Opteron Processor-powered Servers Expected in September 2007
SAN Jose, Calif -- September 10, 2007 --ASA Computers, Inc., a customized server integrator, announced today that it is planning to launch new servers in September 2007 based on Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors. Building on AMD’s common core strategy, Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors deliver continued leadership in performance-per-watt and x86 virtualization. Also, the new Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors leverage proven technologies and improve business capabilities by enhancing efficiency, and supporting low-power/high-bandwidth DDR2 and AMD Virtualization™ technology.
"Selecting the right hardware and software is complex; the wrong choice can be quite expensive. That is why our customers come to us for help in choosing the right components for their web, mail, storage, or general purpose servers," said Arvind Bhargava, CEO, ASA Computers, Inc. "It's comforting to know that the innovative engineering of ASA Computers matched with the exceptional performance-per-watt and computing capabilities of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors can deliver scalable solutions for our customers now and in the future."
Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors are not only the industry’s first native quad-core processors, they are also the first native quad-core processors designed to operate within the same socket and thermal envelopes as AMD’s current generation of dual-core processors. With Enhanced AMD PowerNow!™ technology, with advanced performance-per-watt capabilities to lower the energy consumption of your IT infrastructure while providing optimum application performance, and improved AMD Virtualization™ technology with Rapid Virtualization Indexing to reduce the complexity of existing x86 virtualization solutions for increased performance and efficiency for virtual workloads, Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors help customers grow, adapt and respond in a dynamic business environment.
“AMD and ASA Computers share a focus on addressing the performance and energy-efficiency demands of the enterprise,” said Patrick Patla, Director of Product Management, Server/Workstation Division, AMD (NYSE: AMD). “The Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor is the world’s first native x86 quad-core processor in the same thermal envelope of previous generations of AMD Opteron processors, delivering increased capabilities within the same datacenter infrastructure.”
ASA Computers has worked closely with AMD and motherboard manufacturers to make the Quad Core AMD Opteron processor-based servers available by September 2007. With this exciting plan and as a famous customized server manufacturer, ASA Computers will provide its customers incredibly powerful and reliable servers based on the new Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors.
