Phoenix -- April 26, 2004 --Avnet Computing Components, a division of global technology distributor Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), was recently recognized as AMD’s (NYSE: AMD) top-performing distributor for 2003. Avnet Computing Components holds the number one distribution market share position for AMD’s microprocessors in North America, Europe and Asia, and has doubled sales of AMD Opteron™ processors quarter-over-quarter since the processor’s launch in April 2003.
