PSSC Labs Announces Support For The New Dual-Core
AMD Opteron™ Processor
Irvine, CA -- April 21, 2005 --PSSC Labs, Inc., a leading builder of custom-configured high-performance computing systems, proudly announces support for the Dual-Core AMD Opteron™ processor. PSSC Labs’ offerings are designed to optimize multi-threaded applications as well as enhance performance of single-threaded applications. The new Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor is an extension of the single-core AMD Opteron processor and was designed from the ground up to directly connect two cores on a single die, along with memory, I/O and dedicated caches, improving overall system performance and efficiency.

The dual-core AMD64 processors maximize performance by enabling operating systems to prioritize and manage tasks from multiple applications simultaneously. Two cores offer more physical resources to support multi-tasking and multithreaded environments, which is very important on high-performance computing platforms. In addition, AMD dual-core technology enables users to increase their computing capacity without increasing power requirements, providing the best performance-per-watt ratio in the industry.
