Monarch Furia Goes Dual Core

Desktops and Workstations get New Technology from AMD

Atlanta -- May 31, 2005 --From their headquarters in Tucker, GA, Monarch Computer announced today the addition of the new AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor to the Monarch Furia line of desktops and workstations. Workstations and desktop systems based on this new product will offer customers an excellent value as it’s almost like getting two CPUs for the price of one. The addition of a second core to the Monarch Furia desktops and workstations will, for the first time in a single-processor PC, allow them to process two threads simultaneously giving them the ability to run some multi-threaded applications faster and to multi-task other applications more easily.

What Dual Core brings to the Furia
The design of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor essentially puts two complete and separate CPU cores onto one die, almost like having two processors on one chip. The processor improves performance on digital media benchmarks by 39 percent on average and performance on multi-tasking benchmarks by 22 percent on average. This represents great news for digital content creation (DCC) professionals, 3D designers, and information analysts who typically have multiple streams of information open on their desktops simultaneously.

“This processor really does have true real world benefits. Most computer users typically have a large number of windows open simultaneously, running several different applications not including the anti-virus and pop-up blockers running in the background,” said Trey Harris, founder of Monarch Computer. “In this scenario, the Monarch Furia with AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor is perfect for you.”

The new AMD processor can benefit your average user as well. As broadband Internet penetrates the PC market, more and more PCs become bogged down with additional background programs required to keep the PC safe: anti-virus, pop-up blockers, e-mail client, video or audio streams, not to mention the browser and whatever other applications the user typically has open. The ability of a CPU to process these applications together is called multi-tasking, and multi-tasking is simply made easier when a CPU can handle more than one processing thread at once.

“With the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, end users can immediately reap performance benefits that will allow them to essentially, do more in less time,” said Teresa DeOnis, product marketing manager, desktop products at AMD. “We are excited to be partnering with Monarch Furia as we bring to market this new era of dual-core computing.”

According to Mr. Harris, “Nobody puts the time and effort we do into building each Monarch PC and workstation. Every power cable is tucked neatly out of the way, every ribbon cable folded and tied to reduce its effect on airflow, and every last thing is checked by an experienced quality control professional. With the new AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, your new Monarch Furia will not only be a work of art, it will be a serious performer as well.”
