AMD Bestows Prestigious Pathfinder Award For Best Supplier To Nikko Materials
- Tosoh SMD and Toppan Photomasks, Inc. recognized for outstanding performance with the World Class Supplier Achievement Award -
SUNNYVALE, CA -- August 18, 2005 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced it will present its annual “Pathfinder Award for Best Manufacturing Materials Supplier” to Nikko Material, Inc. during an awards banquet in Dresden, Germany, home to AMD’s Fab 30 and soon-to-open AMD Fab 36 manufacturing facilities. AMD will also present the “World Class Supplier Achievement Awards” to Tosoh SMD and Toppan Photomasks, Inc. for their excellent performance and outstanding service in 2004.
The AMD World Class Supplier Process measures and recognizes suppliers for outstanding performance and exceptional service with two levels of awards: the Pathfinder Award for Best Supplier within a defined procurement area (assembly materials, wafer fab materials and indirect support); and the Achievement Award for exceptional performance in a Materials Commodity (e.g., silicon, lead frame, etc.).

Nikko Materials is receiving the Pathfinder Award for the Best Supplier in Wafer Fab Materials in recognition of the company’s world-class level of overall support and commitment to AMD and Spansion LLC. Nikko Materials offers a wide range of sputtering targets for all semiconductor thin film applications including: copper and aluminum for interconnect; titanium and tantalum for barrier; cobalt and nickel for gate. Specialty alloys and compositions can also be developed for research and development needs.
Tosoh SMD, Inc. is receiving an achievement award in recognition of their consistently high level of support and responsiveness for the AMD and Spansion LLC World Class Supplier Target team. Tosoh SMD, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tosoh Corporation, a diversified international producer of chemicals and high-purity materials. Tosoh Corporation has a long and successful history in the production of specialty materials and sputtering targets.
Toppan Photomasks, Inc.
