AMD Supports Microsoft at Windows XP Launch

NEW YORK -- October 24, 2001 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced its support for Microsoft and the launch of the Windows XP operating system at the Marriott Marquis Theatre, in the heart of New York City's Times Square theater district. Windows XP represents a new standard in dependability and simplicity and provides both home and business users with the freedom to experience more than ever thought possible with a PC and the Internet. AMD has worked closely with Microsoft to ensure systems powered by the AMD Athlon XP™ processor with QuantiSpeed™ architecture provide Windows XP users with extreme performance for a great PC experience.
