AMD Athlon™ XP Processor Receives Prestigious Readers’ Choice Award From PC Magazine Germany

AMD processors chosen “Product of the Year” four years in a row

MUNICH, GERMANY -- March 10, 2003 --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced that readers of PC Magazine Germany named the AMD Athlon™ XP processor “Product of the Year 2002/2003.” This is the fourth consecutive year that a product from the AMD Athlon processor family has received this Readers’ Choice Award.

Readers of PC Magazine Germany also chose AMD and the AMD Athlon XP processor for second place in the “Most Innovative Company and “Most Innovative” Product” categories, respectively, behind Microsoft Corporation and the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system.

The AMD Athlon XP processor features QuantiSpeed™ architecture and support for AMD's 3DNow!™ Professional instructions for enhanced multimedia capabilities. Depending on the core, AMD Athlon XP processors feature either 384KB or 640KB of on-chip, full-speed cache. The AMD Athlon XP processor is compatible with AMD's Socket A infrastructure, and supports the advanced 266 or 333 front-side bus (FSB). AMD Athlon XP processors are manufactured using AMD's 0.13 micron copper process technology in Fab 30 in Dresden, Germany.
