Blue Train Rides Into History.

The 2004 Tour de France was Lance Armstrong’s finest. He won five of the Tour’s 20 stages and dominated in the mountains.

As the Official Technology Partner of Lance Armstrong and the USPS Pro Cycling Team, the "Blue Train," AMD provided powerful technology to help bring together man and machine -- delivering on the promise of a sixth yellow-jersey ride for Lance across the cobblestones of the Champs-Elysees.

But without the collective strength of his team, Lance could never have recorded an unprecedented sixth Tour victory. Using the unbeatable blend of AMD technology and USPS Pro Cycling Team talent, the Blue Train prevailed.

AMD was behind this remarkable group at every stage. From the team's rainy, Stage Four time-trial victory margin of more than one minute to teammate Floyd Landis' superb tempo ride, enabling Lance to finish first in the Tour's final mountain stage, the USPS team seized every opportunity to attack or pressure opponents.

Just as AMD gave the USPS Pro Cycling team a competitive edge, AMD technology will continue to power the technology needs of the team as it moves forward in 2005 as Official Technology Partner of Lance Armstrong and the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team.

Read the press release about AMD's new, three-year commitment to Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team.
