Digital Subscriber Line. Digital modems attached to regular telephone wires (twisted-pair copper wiring) that transmit up to 1.5 Mbps downstream (to the subscriber) and up to 512 Kbps upstream depending on service purchased. The speed examples listed above are for G.Lite DSL; other types of DSL service will have differing speeds.
