AMD Athlon™ Processor System Recommended Components Information offers information necessary to build and operate an AMD Athlon processor-based system. Information in this area includes:
- Recommended motherboards
- Recommended cooling solutions
- Recommended power supplies
Because of the tight control OEM's can maintain over the configuration and power consumption of their products, AMD OEM customers can use power supplies that are not usually recommended by AMD for use with a particular processor. Any questions about power supplies used in OEM systems should be directed to the system manufacturer.
WARNING: Any attempt to operate the AMD Athlon™ processor without a suitable cooling solution will result in permanent damage to the processor and potentially other components within the system
Recommended memory for your AMD Athlon processor-based system may be specific to the type of motherboard you plan to use. For more details, we recommend that you contact the motherboard manufacturer for the correct memory to install.
