AMD’s Native Quad-Core Processor Incorporated Across Entire Product Line

Shawnee, KS -- September 25, 2007 --TeamHPC, a division of M&A Technology Inc. (http://www.teamhpc.com), announced today support for the new native Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ 2300 and 8300 Series processors in all of TeamHPC’s systems. This announcement also unveils the new Performance Blade cluster series designed to be integrated in all HPC facilities.

TeamHPC servers and cluster solutions powered by the new Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor (previously codenamed “Barcelona”) are designed to enhance high performance computing with stability, power efficiency, memory scalability, high bandwidth and low memory latency, offering a validated optimized HPC solution to meet the demands of multi-core processing for high performance computing applications.

“TeamHPC is extremely pleased to bring solutions powered by the new Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors to market. This processor represents a value proposition that really provides researchers an incredible ‘bang for the buck.’ TeamHPC has created an image of being among the first to deliver commodity off the shelf hardware that represents the leading edge in today’s computational world. By continuing to build world-class servers powered by AMD Opteron processors, TeamHPC ensures researchers access to test drive applications to see the results for themselves. Not only do TeamHPC customers know what to expect from our AMD Opteron processor-based solutions, they have come to rely on our expertise to deliver turnkey systems that are plug and play,” said Bret Stouder, VP of TeamHPC at M&A Technology. “Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors enable our division to offer a server product that performs at a level that our customers have come to expect. We are very excited about the increases in computing power and memory bandwidth that are attainable with Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors. This is another huge step in 64 bit computing.”

“AMD Opteron processors with Direct Connect Architecture have always been designed to deliver superior scalability, system efficiency and performance for high performance computing, ” said Patrick Patla, Director of Product Management, Server/Workstation Division, AMD (NYSE: AMD). “By incorporating Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors across their entire product line, TeamHPC can now help their customers increase compute capabilities within the thermal and power envelopes of their previous generation AMD Opteron processors, which ultimately enhances productivity while offering low total cost of ownership.”
