AC ’97 Audio Setup - Version 1.0b for Motherboards with the AMD-768™ Peripheral Bus Controller.December 2001

Windows® ME/2000/XP AC ’97 Audio Setup, Version 1.0b (Windows® ME/2000/XP only)

WHQL Status:

Windows XP: WHQL Certified, Microsoft Digitally-Signed (Use for WHQL submissions).

Windows ME/2000: NOT WHQL Certified, NOT Microsoft Digitally-Signed.

SUMMARY:

The AC ’97 Audio INF will not automatically be installed by Windows ME/2000/XP on a system with the AMD-768 Southbridge. This Setup enables AC ’97 Audio for the AMD 768 Peripheral Bus Controller.

REQUIREMENTS:

Motherboard with the AMD-768 Southbridge on Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

To install the AC ’97 Audio Setup, run the installation program, ac97amd10b.exe

-A Welcome installation window is displayed, press Next to install, Cancel to quit.
-After installation a Finish installation window is displayed, press Finish.
-The setup program installs the .inf file.
-Reboot the system to complete installation.

To install the AC ’97 Audio Setup in silent mode, run the ac97amd10b.exe program with the /s command line option:

-Type: ac97amd10b /s
-The installation of the driver runs silently.
-The setup program installs the .inf file.
-Reboot the system to complete installation.
