Axceleon Announces Full Support for the AMD Opteron™ Processor

EnFuzion certified for servers and workstations built on AMD 64 architecture

Sunnyvale, CA -- April 22, 2003 --Axceleon, leaders in computational grid software, today announced the full support for the AMD Opteron™ processor. The AMD Opteron processor platform offers high performance computing capabilities that enhance EnFuzion’s ability to manage computationally intensive programs. EnFuzion has the ability to manage thousands of processors in corporate networks and compute farms utilizing the AMD Opteron processor.

“EnFuzion has been a leader in clustering high performance computing resources and the AMD Opteron processor is a natural fit for our clients that want to process large amounts of data on multiple processors,” said Mike Duffy, Axceleon president and chief executive officer. “Our customers are interested in leading-edge technologies that provide gains in raw computing power. The AMD Opteron processor and EnFuzion provide that.”

“We believe the AMD Opteron processors clustered with EnFuzion offer our clients the best price performance option in both server and workstation configurations,” said Rob Graziotto, vice president at Axceleon. “With EnFuzion, AMD Opteron processors can be clustered quickly and reliably so users get the most from 64-bit computing.”

“EnFuzion can provide our shared customers with an AMD Opteron processor-based supercomputing system that can help them to achieve more work in less time,” said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager of AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit. “The AMD Opteron processor offers simultaneous high performance 32- and 64-bit computing that is compatible with the pervasive x86 installed base of hardware and software.”
