Verari Systems™ Offers Latest AMD Opteron™ Processors Across Its Server And Workstation Product Lines

SAN DIEGO -- May 18, 2004 ---- Verari Systems™, previously RackSaver, the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade server systems, announced today that its product line is fully compatible with the newest performance-leading AMD Opteron™ processor Models 150, 250, and 850. Verari Systems' flexible and scalable platform-independent architecture ensures that it is among the first manufacturers to offer the latest in high-performance technology, and is set to ship the new systems to customers immediately.

The AMD Opteron processor combines raw CPU performance with scalable, low-latency memory bandwidth and massive I/O to deliver outstanding application performance across the Verari Systems product line. Verari Systems products that support the latest AMD Opteron processors include the industry-leading BladeRack™ blade server, NemeSys™ workstation and QuatreX-64™ rack-optimized server product lines.

The BladeRack blade server consists of 66 dual processor compute nodes (132 AMD Opteron Model 250 processors) and the company’s patented Vertical Cooling System™ (VCS), which accommodates the world’s fastest microprocessors in the densest form factor possible. VCS delivers cooling efficiencies that cut customers' cooling costs in half compared to traditional rack optimized server systems.

“We are proud to be one of the first server manufacturers to ship the newest AMD Opteron processors,” said David Driggers, CEO of Verari Systems. "This new series of AMD Opteron processors offers industry-leading performance and gives our customers the ability to seamlessly transition to 64-bit applications for the ultimate in investment protection."

“Verari Systems has been a key AMD Opteron processor partner since our product launched in 2003,” said Ben Williams, vice president of Enterprise and Server/Workstation Business at AMD. “Verari Systems has pushed the performance and scalability envelope with the AMD Opteron processor platform and has given their customers a truly innovative product.”
