To improve product traceability, the AMD Athlon(tm) XP and AMD Athlon MP processors in AMD PIB packaging, are now marked with a bar code serialization number on the substrate.
The additional bar code will be Code 128 standard with 13-digit human readable text

During the transition period shipments may contain products both with and without bar codes. Distributors' inventories may also still consist of products without bar code.

Each 10-pack of PIBs will have the bar codes labeled on the overpack box (Q-Pack) for easy scanning of large volume shipments.

The round serial number on the fan hub will be replaced with AMD Logo Hologram.
