To confirm its authenticity, make sure your AMD boxed processor has one holographic label located on the box’s bottom right hand corner.

Additional security features on processor in a box (PIB) packaging that help ensure product authenticity include:

  • A unique serial number that helps AMD and its customers to track PIB and WOF distribution and verify product authenticity for warranty service.
  • Tamper-evident security labels with industrial strength adhesive on both sides of the back of the PIB package.

To report a non-authentic AMD processor, please email AMD's Investigations Department at antifraud@amd.com. For more information, visit PIB Security FAQ.
