Ahmed Mahmoud is senior vice president and chief information officer of AMD, and is responsible for AMD' global information technology (IT) strategy and the company's IT assets. This includes company-wide application development, data management, technology infrastructure, data center operations and telecommunication networks to best meet internal needs and serve AMD's customers. Mahmoud also oversees AMD's Business Architecture and LEAN business transformation teams. Collectively, these teams are responsible for identifying and efficiently implementing operational improvements throughout AMD.
Mahmoud joined AMD in 2008, bringing more than 20 years of enterprise IT leadership experience.
Prior to joining AMD, Mahmoud spent 13 years at Dell, where he served as vice president of IT. During that time, he led a series of transformational efforts across the company's data warehousing, virtual storefront, manufacturing, supply chain and corporate computing operations.
Mahmoud has held various IT leadership and instruction positions at Eastman Kodak, The University of Houston and Texas A&M University. Mahmoud earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in physics from Texas A&M University. He lives in Austin, Texas.
