Atlanta --
3/6/2006 --
From their headquarters in Tucker, GA, Monarch Computer announced today the addition of Dual-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Models 185, 285 and 885 to their award-winning lines of systems. Monarch has added the Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 185 to its Furia line of single CPU workstations, while Monarch’s Empro™ workstations and servers now benefit from the power of the Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor Models 285 and 885. The Furia and Empro systems are based on AMD64 technology with Direct Connect Architecture, which offers native dual-core computing, leading-edge performance for 64-bit workstations and servers, while offering significantly reduced CPU power consumption. Companies and individuals alike will appreciate the additional speed while enjoying low energy costs.

The Empro and Furia systems on Monarch’s website are fully customizable. The ability to choose from hundreds of options, including the top-of-the-line components, is an easy task with Monarch’s online configurators. Choosing the optimal parts to integrate into any infrastructure is also easy to do and can be done with only a few clicks.
“The IT industry has always been an industry of compromise. As new technologies are released, you often compromise reliability for performance, value for speed, features for budget, and flexibility for ease of use,” said Trey Harris, founder of Monarch Computer Systems, Inc. “I believe our customers should not have to compromise, and I’ve always tried to incorporate that belief into every aspect of my company. These new Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors can deliver leading-edge performance without compromise.”
Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors Model 285 and 885 processors operate at 2.6GHz, while consuming a maximum 95 watts of power. The processors will also include AMD PowerNow!™ technology with Optimized Power Management, which is designed to adjust to the speed and power consumption of the processor to the current needs of the user, and Direct Connect Architecture, which helps to eliminate bottlenecks found in traditional, front-side bus technology. The integration of these new processors should fit any company’s existing infrastructure. All of these technologies are currently supported by Monarch’s Empro and Furia systems.
“Monarch has made great strides with their Empro server and workstation and Furia workstation product lines,” said Pat Patla, director, Server/Workstation Marketing, AMD (NYSE: AMD). “With Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors, Monarch customers can expect native dual-core computing, unrivalled performance and industry-leading power management.”
